2013: More Celtic Connections
The Isle of Man Youth Art Centre group return to Ireland in August. We all stay in the wonderful Belan Lodge.
We have been working on a script together through emails and phone calls. We didn’t have Zoom yet!
“As part of the cultural experience we went to St Laurence’s GAA and introduced the Isle of Man people to Gaelic football, then we tried to show them how to do Irish dancing, emphasis on ‘tried’, as a lot of the YAC people were trained dancers they made a show of the vast majority of us ungraceful GYT actors.”
– Jacob Tallon, GYT member
Our 18- to 30-year-olds go on a leaders’ exchange to Estonia:
‘’The greatest thing for me was all the new friends I made, Dutch, Spanish and Estonian, we all got up and got involved in everything. We really worked hard together to ensure a great week.”
– Noel Donovan, participant
“The hike to Vislandi island was one of the major highlights of the exchange. We tackled waist high water and some muddy patches in the midday sun and enjoyed every minute of it, even if the odd shoe was left behind.”
– Shane Bennett, participant
